For The Love Of Handloom / Handmade

Narendra Modi is all set to launch National Handloom Day on August 7th, so Chennai has been chosen for the event as its bountifully abundant! No argument and strictly, no offence! Thanks to social media, entrepreneurs and increasing mass movements, handloom and handmade are going places and lauded like never before!

To love handmade and handloom, you dont have to be a conservationist. For me, it was a conscious decision! Everybody has a different perspective to support a commendable cause! We dont see things as they are, but we see them as we are. Irrespective of its size and price, the feel-good factor is irreplaceable when you support a genuine cause! Everything handmade is made out of love and enjoyed to its core throughout. You buy any handmade product, you support the artisan directly. You give them a livelihood to sustain the chamelionic cruel market strategies.

Everything handmade has a personal aspect involved. It has a heart to it! When you buy, its the most beautiful way of rewarding their efforts! You support their vision and celebrate humanity! You help them achieve financial independence and build their confidence like nobody's business! That confidence results in more creativity! We are all born with the ability to change someone's life, so we should definitely not give up the course-altering chance!

Labels are for jars, not for the real talent! Any exhibitions or such supporting communities, your interaction with the artisan gets personal. That gleam and pride to convince you are unparalleled! They want you to see what others dont! You buy, you know where your money goes! You feel proud for being the reason behind their smiles! For the artisan, the end product is love, time, attention, soul, tears, energy, thoughts, skill, detail, frustration, commitment, effort, pain and the list goes on and on and on! Sustainability comes with a premium, so its ethically fair to pay the price!

The way you give a gift is worth more than the gift itself! Next time, try and gift handmade things than store-bought ones! Trust me, the essence feels great inside out. You know what I mean if you have already been there and done it! Every time you look at a handmade product, try visualize the artisan.

We live in an era where we bargain with the street vendors, but pay dear to the big daddies of business! Go out and support the art of your neighbourhood because its worth your everything! We dont need a reason to help people! If we do, its a win-win situation for both! Everybody goes home happy :)
